Anne will bring a variety of thick and thin willow bark and introduce several techniques for working with this versatile material. Participants will explore ways of shaping bark using folding, braiding, and tying methods, working either entirely with willow or combining it with roots or string for added structure and detail. Through these simple but expressive techniques, we will create unique containers and small baskets while learning how willow bark can be transformed into both functional and beautiful forms.
Material fee: 15-30€ to be paid directly to Anne at the festival. We will finalize the material cost by the festival.
All tools and materials provided.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Prior carving experience necessary.
Minimum age: 16 years old
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Anne's courses are in Danish and English.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
