Von Hand is a small, independent gathering rooted in craft, shared knowledge, and time spent making together. Work on the festival happens nearly every week of the year, building over months of planning, coordination, and hands-on preparation to create a gathering that feels welcoming, grounded, and alive.

Donations support the parts of the festival that help the whole community thrive — including the children’s program, free or subsidized places, additional presentations, shared spaces & shelters that make the gathering resilient. These elements don’t always fund themselves, but they shape the spirit of the festival and who is able to take part.

Von Hand is created through a great deal of care and largely behind-the-scenes work, with resources prioritized toward the program and the people who make it possible.
