Monday 4th PM - Vessel & Vase Hand Building with Laura de Jong
Get in touch with this earthy material and learn the basics of handbuilding techniques that have been used since the beginning of time.
In this workshop we will use “coil building” technique to create a vase or vessel out of clay.
There is the option to come back on Thursday morning/afternoon (please book!) to finish your piece and decorate it. If you are unable to attend one of Friday’s workshops you are still welcome to fire your piece on Saturday night in the pit fire.
Previous pottery experience would be good but not necessary! Be ready for a little challenge!
Note: On the last evening we plan to do a pit firing will be organized to fire all pottery. If there is a fire regulation preventing this we will discuss other idea’s & options for firing your finished pieces, either with Laura in her studio for a fee, or you take them to a pottery studio!
Materials Fee: There will be a small materials fee about 5-10€ to be paid directly to Laura at the festival.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels!
Minimum age: 12 years old
Afternoon workshops start following lunch at 2 pm and end around 5 or 6pm.
Laura's speaks English, German & Dutch.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
