Laura de Jong is a Dutch/German ceramic artist at When Life is Slow based in the Netherlands.

With her handmade ceramics and clay workshops, she wants to bring a different sound in this fast-spinning world - one of slowing down. Working with your hands is central to her practice, as is passing on the value of this slow craftsmanship. With a completed bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and work experience at several pottery studios, she founded her own, equipped with the pottery tools & kiln passed down from her grandmother. Laura believes it is important for people to reconnect with their natural environment and engage in the slow craft of working with their hands and natural materials. Her workshops not only teach people the skills of hand built pottery, but also take them outside into nature where they can experience the stillness & beauty of the world around them. By fostering a deeper connection with the natural world and the joy of creating with their hands, Laura hopes to inspire others to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Laura’s courses will be in English, Dutch, & German
