Friday 8th - Leather Sheath for a Carving Knife with Katy Schütte
Learn the technique of saddler's stitching with two needles and an awl, making a sheath of vegetable tanned leather with a limewood insert and a Sami-style belt hanger loop for your Mora carving knife. The wooden insert makes this sheath very secure, although the knife is easy to insert and remove. Add your own personalised decoration.
Material fee: According to how much leather and thread you use materials will cost 5-10€
To Bring: You must supply your own Mora carving knife. If you do not have one we will have some available for purchase onsite.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels!
Minimum age: 16 years old
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Katy speaks English & German.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
