Discover kolrosing, a Scandinavian wood surface decoration technique that is like tattooing wood. Similar to scrimshaw, kolrosing involves cutting a line, filling it with pigment, and burnishing it closed. This portable craft can be done in your lap, carrying everything you need in a pencil case! Learn basic techniques to get started on and continue your kolrosing journey, including layout and design, surface preparation, knife techniques, cutting straight and curved lines, and working on both flat and curved surfaces.
Material costs: 5€ to be paid directly to Liesl onsite.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels! Prior experience in woodworking is helpful but not necessary.
Minimum age: 14 years old
To Bring: If you’d like to bring some finished wooden pieces you are welcome to. Wood will be provided for everyone.
Morning workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end at 1pm.
Liesl courses are in English.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
