In this hands-on workshop, we’ll work with some of the most essential fire-making skills. Participants will forge and harden their own firesteel, learning the basics of shaping and heat treatment along the way. We’ll then prepare traditional tinder from linen and explore how these simple materials work together. Each participant will receive a flint, and we’ll finish by practicing how to reliably light a fire using what you’ve made—connecting craft, skill, and elemental knowledge in a practical and satisfying way.
Material costs: 15€ to be paid directly to Sven at the Festival
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels!
Minimum age: 12 year’s old
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Sven's courses are in German with a little bit of English.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand German. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
