Workshops

Studio WOUW is a textile studio and nonprofit based in Ghent, Belgium, focused on natural dyeing, circular textiles, and hands-on learning. Working primarily with existing textiles, the studio explores plant-based colour and traditional techniques to extend the life of fabrics.

Through workshops, after-school programs, and community projects, Studio WOUW shares textile practices such as shibori, eco-printing, and natural dyeing. The studio also organizes creative activities for neighbourhood children, including programs with refugee children.

Studio WOUW was founded by Kasper Kerkhoffs and Jolinde Deprez.

Jolinde Deprez

Jolinde is a textile designer, workshop facilitator and co-founder of Studio WOUW vzw with a background in cultural heritage and textile design. She works at the intersection of historical textile knowledge and contemporary sustainable design. Her practice focuses on natural dyeing, traditional techniques, and hands-on learning experiences that reconnect people with materials and making. At Studio WOUW, she leads workshops and develops educational programs around plant-based dyeing, shibori, and eco-printing. Alongside her work at the studio, she is active as a freelance textile artist, workshop facilitator and guide at the Industriemuseum in Ghent.

Kasper Kerkhoffs

Kasper is a designer, educator, and co-founder of Studio WOUW vzw with a background in industrial design and education. His work focuses on experimental textile processes, natural dyeing, and circular material practices. Within Studio WOUW, he develops new techniques and workshop formats, prepares textiles for dyeing, and supports the practical and organizational side of the studio’s projects. His approach combines design thinking with hands-on experimentation and accessible, sustainable making.
