














Friday 8th PM - The Art of making Cordage with Raleigh Klotzek
Twined fibers can be found across the world using a wide variety of local materials. Together we will play with plants & recycled fabric. I will offer all that I know about processing fibers to make twine and rope. These techniques of twining show up around the world and are use for so many projects. (Photos are examples of cordage in the world around us taken by Raleigh)
If you would like please bring along any fibers you have harvested and want to try (we will chat about the qualities you should look for in plants. You can also bring fabric or retired scarves or clothes that you want to give new purpose and don’t mind cutting up! This can be a great way of preserving ancestral clothing pieces that you want to give new live.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels!
Minimum age: 8 years old with parent in class as well!
Afternoon workshops start following lunch at 2 pm and end around 4:30/5.
All tools and materials will be provided by the instructor. Please bring your own plant or fabric materials if you’d like to offer them to the group or use them yourself.
The workshop will be taught in English.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
