Monday 4th - Solid-Elm-Seat Stool with Tilman Greiner
In this course, you will build a stool with a solid seat made of elmwood.
Prefabricated dried stool legs made of split ash wood and a previously sawn seat are used.
The aim of the course is to learn some basic chairmaking techniques:
Carving out the seat with an adze and travisher.
Drilling the holes for the legs at the right angle.
Wedging and gluing the legs into the seat.
No previous experience is required.
Material costs: 26€ to be paid directly to Tilman at the festival.
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Tilman speaks German and English.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
