Thursday 7th - Pole Lathe Turning - Cups, Boxes & Plates w/ Oliver Klotzek - Experience Required
This course is designed to meet you where you are, with personalized guidance to help you advance your skills. You will have the chance to choose a project of cup turning (with or without handles), locking lidded boxes, or plates. Oliver will also be available to talk about the improvement of overall turned finish. This course is designed for those with turning experience.
As experience is relative it is hard to determine the measurement of that. You need to be comfortable with the turning process on a Pole lathe. If you have turned a minimum 5-10 bowls on a pole lathe you should be ok (also if you have turned 100’s but have not ventured into other projects!!). If you are unsure please get in touch.
Students must email Oliver - info@wildcraftedhome.com after your registration to specify what project you would like to do at the festival so we can ensure we have the correct material and tools made for you. You can either borrow or order tools that are specific to your project (or bring your own if you already have them).
Materials Fee: 10€ to be paid directly to Oliver at the Festival.
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Oliver speaks English & German.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
