Thursday 7th - Improvers Spoon Carving with Andreea Grad
This workshop is for carvers looking to refine their spoon carving skills and deepen their practice. With guidance from instructor Andreea Grad, we’ll focus on design intention, knife finishing, and carving with more efficiency and confidence. You’ll explore form, function, and flow—sharpening both your eye and your edges. Expect hands-on guidance, thoughtful critique, and plenty of time to carve. Bring your tools and any spoons in progress; green wood will be provided.
What to Bring: Please bring your own sloyd knife and hook knife. Also bring along any spoons you have in progress to work on, or finished if you are seeking constructive criticism. There will be additional wood to work with.
Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: This workshop is best suited for those with some spoon carving experience who are comfortable using a straight and hook knife.
Minimum age: 16 years old.
Material costs: 5-10€ to be paid directly to Von Hand Organizers to cover the cost of wood and tool use.
Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.
Andreea's speaks English & Romanian.
If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
