Making a piece of jewelry or a bookmark with free hand patterns

In this workshop, you’ll learn the art of marquetry—creating intricate designs by piecing together thin wood veneers. Using traditional techniques, you’ll craft a unique bookmark or a small jewelry piece, gaining hands-on experience in cutting, assembling, and finishing your design. Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, this class offers a blend of precision and creativity in working with wood.

- Presentation of the techniques, materials used, and constraints
- Preparation of the wood
- Cutting marquetry lines with a cutter
- Using a template and cutting geometric shapes with a wood chisel
- Assembly and gluing
No previous experience is required.

Material costs: 10-20€ to be paid directly to Pauline at the festival.

Afternoon workshops start after lunch around 2:00 pm and end around 5 or 6pm.

Pauline speaks French and English.

If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.

IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
