Monday 4th - Crosscut Saw Class: Use & Maintenance w/ Pirmin Lehr

€85.00
6 available

Crosscut saws are great and efficient tools for bucking logs by hand for firewood and green woodwork. They are quiet, a great workout and can cut much faster than you might have previously thought.
In this one-day class, you will learn how to restore, sharpen and set these tools, as well as using one and two man crosscut saws properly in different ways.
You can bring your own vintage or new bought crosscut saw or work on/with saws provided in the class.
Maintenance and use will be shown on different types of crosscut saws such as simple triangle tooth pattern or more complex American crosscut saws with cutter teeth and rakers.
You will also learn about the different tools and files for sharpening and maintenance, about bucking logs under tension and some theory on felling trees with crosscut saws.

Skill Level/Prerequisite’s: Open to All Levels!

Minimum age: 16 years old.

Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.

The workshop will be taught in English & German.

If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.

IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
