Thursday 7th - Handling & Etching a Knife Blade with Adam Ashworth

€100.00
Sold Out

The method of Etching dates back to medieval times and is akin to kolrosing, but with a scribe on metal. Back then it was used to decorate armour. It's a lovely technique to personalize a knife blade with your own design ideas. Even though it’s only a small work area it's a good idea to come with an idea of what to draw.

You will get one of my hollow ground knife blades which we will sharpen and handle together.

You’re welcome to bring a piece of wood for a handle and your own carving tools to work with.

Material costs: 30€ to be paid directly to Adam at the Festival

A slöjd knife blade and wood for a handle are included in the material costs.

Workshops start after our morning circle around 9:30 am and end around 5 or 6 pm.

Adam’s courses are in English.

If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand German. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.

IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
