I was born in Sandwich, South East England, in 1963 and started at a very early age to enjoy sewing and crafts. I got married and moved to Germany to join my Dutch husband. We have been living just north of the Wendland since 1988 with a family of 2 sons their 2 Claudias with 5 Grandchildren along with horses and dogs. This wasthe reason why I started leatherworking in 1995 with repairs. Over the years my interests have moved on from equestrian items to handbags, upholstery, leather braiding and green woodworking.
I am keen to pass on what knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the years to people who are interested, something I never experienced myself. Since I have been asked now to teach a group, I hope to inspire and encourage a few more new faces at von Hand. Let’s enjoy it!
