Workshops

From social-, cultural educator to woodworker.

For the past four years, I have dedicated myself to my passion for wood, discovering greenwood in particular. It allows us to reconnect directly with nature because it is so easy to work with, thus reconnecting us with ourselves and our own abilities.

My many years of experience guiding children and young people in their artistic and craft-related processes led me to learn my own craft again. For some time now, it has been a heartfelt desire of mine to experience, preserve, and pass on ancient knowledge.

Specializing in wood and my own experience working with fresh wood moved me so deeply that I have now decided to make it my main focus: to pass on my knowledge and that of our ancestors and revive it. I want to reconnect people with "ancient" cultural techniques, their own hands, and their own actions, thereby sparking creative processes and joy within them.

From these many facets, the Frei.Hand.Werkstatt (Free.Hand.Workshop) was created in 2025: My mobile greenwood workshop, where people of all ages can try their hand at techniques such as sawing, splitting, and cutting. Hand tools like axes, adzes, drawknives, and carving knives are available in the workshop and invite you to try them out on planing horses, axe blocks, and sawhorses.
